Hawaii Sun-Brite Soda Works on eBay

Occasionally, I find time to follow some Hawaiian bottles being sold on eBay. Usually, the bottles that sell for a lot are the BIMAL (blown in mold applied lip) bottles. I don’t know much about the ACL (applied color label) or machine sodas but this one caught my eye today.

This bottle is from Sun-Brite Soda Works of Hilo, Hawaii. The bottle’s yellow and white label features a rooster crowing as the sun rises at dawn. The label reads “Refresh yourself with SUN-BRITE BEVERAGES”. The condition of the bottle was rated as excellent grading 9 on a scale of 10 and showing only slight traces of wear. This bottle sold today for $560. What a sale! I guess bottles from all time periods in Hawaii can fetch a reasonable chunk of change.
